The most subversive thing you can wear at the pool without getting kicked out.
Before it was the desert camo of Desert Storm, it was this: a weird, half-forgotten pattern from a 1972 U.S. military experiment that looked suspiciously like mint chocolate chip ice cream. Developed by Natick Labs as part of early arid-environment camouflage tests, this prototype featured greenish hues instead of the tan beige we know today—because apparently someone thought deserts had more vegetation than they actually do.
Dan painstakingly recreated the original pattern from a vintage jacket, right down to the sun-bleached splotches. Then we did what any freedom-loving degenerates would do—we made a string bikini out of it.
Swim in history. Or just tan ironically.
