50s vintage black lacquer musical jewellery box featuring Japanese scenes with top edges inlaid with mother of pearl chips, four feet and winding key to the base. Hinged top with mirrored interior reflecting a twirling ballerina and a removable three-section jewellery compartment. The key is missing and the winder mechanism appears to have been over-wound, thus producing only a short burst of music. Measures approx. 6” x 4” x 4”, in good vintage with minor cracking to the lacquer on one side and some wear to the feet
