This book introduces signboards, street decorations, and show window designs from the late Taisho and early Showa periods, the so-called "Showa Modern" period, when Japanese cities underwent major transformations.

With cafes, bars, fruit parlors, and western goods stores lining the streets, signboards and streetlight decorations were an important part of the cityscape as urban culture blossomed.  

Enjoy the ideas of the pioneering designers of the time, and the fascinating and diverse world of design.
