The second annual release of Longrow 114 Proof, this single malt, like its predecessor, was drawn from a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-pinot noir casks and bottled without chill filtration or added color at (of course) 114 proof. The nose has features medicinal peat backed by red berries, brine, vanilla, and citrus zest. On the palate, earthy peat is front and center with support from flavors of salted caramel, dark fruit, lemon oil, and black pepper. The finish lingers with notes of briny peat smoke and toasted caramel.
