The song is composed by soul veteran Randy Hall who in the session brought in Allen McGrier, bass player for the late Motown soulstress Teena Marie who co-wrote her 1981 anthem “Square Biz”. With Windy a Teena fan with a similar voice, Georgie B has stepped in and doubled down on these connections for a record that is one part in tribute and the other a fresh modern soul groove, an original song beyond the nostalgia for a mix currently topping UK soul charts.
