This is a classic Dutch plakzegel (revenue stamp), denominated 5 cent, printed in a muted violet-lilac shade. These fiscal stamps were used on official documents to validate payment of fees or taxes. The design features the Dutch royal coat of arms flanked by two crowned lions, finely engraved with elaborate scrollwork typical of early 20th-century fiscal issues. The background is filled with repeated microprint text “Nederlandsche Plakzegel.” This example bears a bold handwritten manuscript cancellation dated 1904, adding to its historical authenticity. Well-centred and nicely preserved for a revenue stamp of this era, it is a strong addition for collectors of classic Dutch fiscals or coat-of-arms themed material.
