Iga Ayumi & Yamaguchi Masatoshi(Piano Duo)
Description:
Why don't you play Shostakovich, which no one has recorded yet? This project began with Hideaki Takaoki's words. It is hard to imagine how attractive this project must have been for Ayumi Iga and Masatoshi Yamaguchi, nicknamed the "evolutionary duo" for their constant search for new repertoire (they sometimes even arrange their own music), as well as their repertoire of many difficult pieces. With the score in hand, they immediately set to work on their performance, but they also encountered some difficulties. They easily solved the technical problems, but Shostakovich's score did not include the symbolic bell sound at the end of the fourth movement, which is an important factor in this work. They attempted to reproduce the bells themselves. The version added to track 5 is one of the results they came up with. Symphony No. 11, Op. 103, for piano with various feelings.
