This is an aftermarket, solid version of the Mopar OEM Manual Transmission Shift Linkage Tension Strut. The difference between this tension strut and the OEM one is that this one is solid, so you get a more solid feel to shifts, and this one does not have a bushing that will disintegrate over time.

Over time, the rubber bushing in the gear shift control rod on top of the Dart's transmission will begin to disintegrate. Without this piece working properly, your shifter will feel sloppy, loose, and it can be difficult or even impossible to shift gears! If you dont want to replace your worn out OEM piece with another oem piece, get the Deyeme Stainless Steel Shift Control Rod instead. Please note: around June 2023, Deyeme changed the design of this tension strut from having both sides of the arm have stainless pivot sockets to only having one stainless pivot arm and then a plastic ball socket on the other side. This design change was to make installation easier.
