The fourth collection of orchestral works by Moravian composer Paul (Pavel) Vranitsky, who moved to Vienna at the age of 20 to pursue his career, and is regarded as one of the most important symphonic composers of the late 1790s in Vienna. He was also active as the director of the orchestra of the Vienna Court Theatre, and left many works for the stage. The ballet "Daughter of the Forest" is one of his most successful works.
