This is the first release in the "Sony Classical Masterpieces Collection 1000". This is a live album of a benefit concert held in 1972 by Jascha Heifetz, who had been away from recitals for 10 years, to raise funds for his students and faculty at the University of Southern California Music Department, where he was teaching. Heifetz, who was 71 years old at the time, performed as flawlessly as he had in the past.
