The Chicago funk band Staveu, whose superb mellow groove "Body Fusion" has been included on numerous rare groove compilations, has released a masterpiece modern soul album in 1980, which has been reissued on LP! This is the only album released in 1980 by the Chicago funk band Staveu, whose original copies sell for a high price. The album features a sophisticated sound that seems to have been created with EW&F in mind, from the speedy funk/disco/boogie to the slower songs, and the sweet vocals and harmonies are truly wonderful. The medium track "Put The BS Aside," which was used as a coupling track for the earlier 7", is also excellent. This is a funk/disco album of extremely high standard, which is hard to imagine from the mysterious jacket design. (C)RS
