Charles-Auguste de Berio was a Belgian violinist and composer. He was the founder of the French-Belgian (Franco-Belgian) school of music, and his style of playing was so cutting edge in the 19th century that his concerts in London and Paris caused a sensation. In 1896, The Strad, a magazine founded in England in 1890, published an article on Berio in which it praised his "technique as perfect, and his sound, though not loud, is beautiful and noble. Many of Berio's concertos are spectacular works that make full use of heavy techniques and harmonics, and are known not only to be enjoyable to listen to but also to be immensely effective in acquiring violin playing techniques. The artist performing wonderfully on this album is the promising newcomer, Ayana Tsuji, a talented young woman whose abilities have caught the world's attention, including first prize at the 2016 Montreal International Music Competition. She has been highly acclaimed for her performances with orchestras, and here she sings Berio's works brilliantly with her lustrous tone and exceptional expressive power. <Ayana Tsuji was born in Ogaki City, Gifu Prefecture. She won the first prize at the 9th Osaka International Music Competition. She won the first prize in the elementary school section of the 63rd All Japan Music Competition for Students, Violin Division, and the first prize in the 82nd Japan Music Competition, Violin Division. Second Prize in the Violin Division of the 82nd Japan Music Competition. 2nd Prize at the 11th Seoul International Music Competition (highest prize).In 2016, he won the first prize at the Montreal International Music Competition, simultaneously receiving the Bach Prize, the Paganini Prize, the Canadian Work Prize, the Sonata Prize, and the Semi-Final Best Recital Prize. He has performed with the Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra, Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra, Osaka Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo City Philharmonic Orchestra, Yokohama Sinfonietta, Chubu Philharmonic Orchestra, Central Aichi Symphony Orchestra, Czech Philharmonic Chamber Ensemble, Sejong In November 2016, he was invited to the Bach Festival in Montreal, and in December 2016, he was awarded the Order of St. Pierre by the City of Ogaki. Scholarship student of Rohm Music Foundation. After attending Sugiyama Jogakuen Junior High School, she is currently enrolled at Tokyo College of Music as a special scholarship student as of 2017. She has studied under Kenji Kobayashi, Jushiko Yaguchi, Kimiko Nakazawa, Machie Oguri, and Koichiro Harada. He plays Joseph Guarneri del Gesu "Serdet" 1716 on loan from NPO Yellow Angel. Naxos Japan
