This is a collection of three works for Greek tragedy by Euripides, composed by Vaughan Williams in 1911, the year after the premiere of "Sea Symphony." Although these works have not been performed since their composition, the beautiful music performed by mezzo-soprano, female chorus, and orchestra is said to have been praised by Gilbert Murray, a classical scholar of the time, and Isadora Duncan, a dancer.
