Description:

The latest reissue of the hidden master, Bongartz's most famous recording is fresh and new! Includes Kegel's Dessau in the margins. New reissue from the original ETERNA analog tape. World's first SACD release! Mastered only in analog domain and directly converted to DSD! The 20th SACD hybridization of the latest reissue of ETERNA's original analog tapes in Japan, Bruckner: Symphony No. 6, recorded in 1964 and known as one of the most famous recordings by Heinz Bongartz (1894.7.31-1978.5.2), as well as a recording by German composer Paul Dessau ( 1894.12.19-1979.6.28) composed in 1967, and Kegel's recording of "Stormy Sea" from the same year. Both are the world's first SACD recordings. Bongartz was music director of the Dresden Philharmonic after the war until 1963, when he was succeeded by Mazur, and is known as an influential figure in the world of conductors in the former East Germany at that time. He is known as an influential conductor in the former East German conducting circles at the time, and is known as an influential conductor in the former East German conducting circles. Among his recordings, this Bruckner is a well-known masterpiece. There were several Bruckner recordings with the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra in Schallplatten, Germany at that time, including the "No. 5" with Konwitschny in 1961 (reissued by this project on 0301621BC in August 2020) and the "No. 3" with Sanderling in 1963 (reissued by this project on No. 6" was recorded after "No. 5" (reissued by this project on 0301621BC in March 2021) and "No. 3" with Sanderling in 1963 (reissued on 0301778BC in March 2021). After this, there was also "No. 1" with Neumann in 1965 (after that, there was a break with LGO, and since then, only "No. 4" and later recordings by Regner have been included). Bongartz's interpretation of the "No. 6" in stereo is characterized by a crisp sound, with the orchestra playing clearly and clearly without losing volume. The brass instruments are particularly impressive, with a lively and appealing expression, including a generous sense of tempo. The tone of the horns in the first movement is also noteworthy. Although there are not so many recordings of this piece as well as Bruckner's Nos. 1 and 2, I would like to add that there were some great early stereo recordings of this piece made around this time (the Kilebert recording with the BPO in 1963, the Klemperer recording with the PO the following year, and so on).As for the recording, there are some drop-outs due to the aging of the master tape, but with this latest high quality sound, the supremacy of the recording can be confirmed in more detail.
