Whistling Jack Smith
Description:
The album featuring the hit song that was popular as the theme song for a radio program in Japan at the time is finally being reissued! I Was Kaiser Bills Batman (Whistling Heaven)," with its lively march-like beat and whistling tone, brought a refreshing breeze to the Japanese Western music scene in 1967. It was ranked No. 19 on the All Japan Pop 20 radio program broadcast nationwide by Bunka Hoso in the second week of June of the same year, and reached No. 1 in the fourth week of July. It was also ranked No. 1 on TBS's "This Week's Top Ten" on July 16. In addition, in November 1968, the following year, Bunka Hoso started a late-night program called "Run! Uta Kyoku" (Monday through Saturday, 3:00 to 5:00 a.m.), which started the following November in 1968, and the song was adopted as the opening theme for the program, which made the melody familiar to many people for many years.
