Ten years after the band's formation, The View's fifth album, "Rope Walk," is now complete. This is the fifth album produced by The Strokes' Albert Hammond Jr. and longtime producer/engineer Gus Oberg, also of The Strokes. As the band says, Albert and Gus's instincts are believable, and for the first time they have decided to give creative control to a producer, their creative possibilities have expanded and a new side of themselves has blossomed, resulting in a masterpiece worthy of a 10th anniversary celebration. The album was recorded at Clouds Hill studios in Hamburg over a three-week period in November 2014, with the final mixing done by Justin Gerrish, who has also gained acclaim for his work with Vampire Weekend in New York.
