Description:
Previously unreleased recordings by Duke Ellington, recorded in Germany in 1970 by the famous rock producer Connie Plank, are now available on CD. The two songs, "Alerado" and "Afrique," were recorded in three takes each, each at a different tempo and with different solo instruments, and "Afrique" includes a take featuring soprano vocals. This is not just another take, as is often the case with reissues, but a piece of music that is very rewarding to listen to.
