Complete stereo upgrade kit to install a single or double DIN aftermarket radio and retain the use of the steering wheel control in a 2009 to 2011 Mercedes SLK R171 with an original harman/kardon fibre optic amplified audio system.

Compatibility note: This kit is for 2009 to 2011 facelift Mercedes SLK R171 cars with the harman kardon amplified audio systems. The car will have harman kardon branding on the speaker grills.

This head unit fitting kit includes:-Flush mount matt black single and double din fascia adapter panel (50-313)-103mm double din fitting cage kit (51-012)-Steering wheel control interface (39-MB-A20NTG2)-Universal patch lead for steering control interface (included in 39-MB-A20NTG2)-Antenna adapter cable (21-106)-Fibre optic amplifier integration interface (23-241)

The fitting kit has a fascia adapter panel to allow the fitting of an aftermarket single or double DIN car radio upgrade.

The fascia adaptor allows the fitting of an aftermarket radio into the dashboard by matching the shape, style and colour of the original radio. Use the supplied pocket with the fascia adapter to fit a single din radio, or remove the pocket and use the fascia trim only with the supplied 103mm fitting cage to fit a double din aftermarket head unit.

Most aftermarket radios are supplied with a 113mm high cage, because of this an additional 103mm fitting cage is also supplied in this fitting kit.The fascia is a flush mount fascia, it gives a very tidy and professional finish.

The fitting kit is supplied with a steering control interface and radio adapter cable. The cable adapts from the Quadlock connector in the car to standard aftermarket ISO connectors.

This replaces the need for a separate ISO radio replacement adapter cable. The CANbus steering wheel control interface is built in to the adapter cable for a plug and play installation This interface will allow the original audio control buttons on the steering wheel to work with the new aftermarket radio.

The interface will work the volume, track skip and phone buttons.

The CANbus interface will also provide ignition, illumination, reverse gear, handbrake and speed pulse outputs.

This interface is supplied with a universal patch lead. This links the steering control interface to the steering wheel control input on the back of the new stereo.

A Fakra to DIN antenna adapter is in the kit. This cable adapts from a Farka antenna connection at the back of the cars original radio to a standard aftermarket DIN antenna connection to allow the fitting of an aftermarket radio upgrade.

The kit contains a fibre optic interface to integrate the new aftermarket stereo with the original harman/kardon amplifier in the car. This replaces the need to bypass the amplifier.
