Most of the world premiere recordings of Flemish Romantic virtuoso works and salon pieces! The Hansens Piano Concerto is performed with members of the 18th Century Orchestra! Shigehiko Kawaguchi was born in Iwate Prefecture in 1989. He has performed concertos with the 18th Century Orchestra, Orkiestra Historyczna, and in 2018 he will perform a piano concerto in chamber music format with members of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. In 2018, he performed a recital of a chamber piano concerto with members of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in the Netherlands. He has won several prestigious awards, including the highest prize at the Bruges International Competition for Old Music, a gateway to success for young players of old instruments, and the first prize at the 1st International Fortepiano Competition in Rome (M. Clementi Prize). He is a young keyboard player who has been in the spotlight since winning the second prize at the 1st Chopin International Competition for Period Instruments in 2018. This album uses rare instruments owned by Mr. Edwin Beunk, a leading expert in the restoration of ancient instruments. Mr. Beunk (Pleyel) and Mr. Schulte Heyda (Erard, Brüttner) have carefully tuned the instruments, and the recording was done with the utmost care and attention to detail.With a musicality cultivated through various encounters with historical keyboard instruments, the artist brings out the full potential of these famous instruments with a long history, and takes us back to the salons of the 19th century.
