Riccardo Grilli is the latest release from Riccardo Grilli, one of the most popular guitarists in the New York jazz scene today, who is reminiscent of Kurt Rosenwinkel and Pat Metheny. His melodic and modern guitar sound has catapulted him to the forefront of the scene as a new guitar star. The emotional guitars on "Arcturus" and "Vertigo" face off against Eric Harland's overwhelming drumming, while "Radiance," inspired by Brian Blade & Fellowship, and "Far Away Shores," dedicated to his close friend Julian Shore (p), are all beautifully played on the album. The performance of "Breathe", which skillfully digests Brazilian rhythms, and the overwhelming quality of the backing members, along with the breath of a new generation, is sure to excite you!
