Description:
Chaconne for the Left Hand" played by Fazioli! Danish pianist Rike Sambær studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Music and made her debut with a recital in 2002. She is active on the Danish and Nordic music scene, teaching at the academies in Copenhagen and Odense, and serving as artistic director of the Festivals in Tysvile and Langvaz. Her repertoire includes classical works by Mozart and Beethoven, as well as works by Carl Nilsen, the Kopel fathers, and Rachmaninoff. Her new album titled "Stolen Moments" is a collection of works by Brahms, to whom she has a special attachment. Reflections. Reflection is the first word that comes to mind when I play or listen to Brahms' piano music. Especially his interludes. It is a pause, a "time" such as before, after, or in the middle. A time to ponder the future, the past, or simply the present. It is a time of hope, anticipation, regret, sadness, joy, love, and excitement about what is to come. ......She dedicates this album to her friend Ebe Taaing, who played the first "Capriccio" from "Eight Pieces" for her when they last met and then died suddenly.
