In Golden 70s
Description:
A collection of 70s pop and country covers, including the Carpenters and Glen Campbell, with real 70s artist Jun Otto Nakao as sound-making and overall director. The duo version of "Gentle on My Mind" (covered by Glenn & Bobby Gentry) by Santiago Tamura, an admirer of Glen Campbell, and Aki Koyama, a live singer long active in the country music world, is the first song on the album, followed by Glen Campbell, The Carpenters, Dave Mason's Country Flavors, Tony Orlando, Three Degrees, Brooke Benton, Shirley Bassey's "Goldfinger," and the B-side of the 70's commercial song "Otoko no Sekai" single "His Pride" (Jerry Wallace), all of which were played on FM radio in Japan. This is a collection of American pop covers of nostalgic melodies that bring back memories of the days when they were played on FM radio in Japan. To create the sound of those days with simple instrumentation and cubese-only DTM, Jun Otto Nakao, a legendary artist of the 70's who worked with the Orange County Brothers, was invited as director, mixer, and mastering engineer to create a pop, glittering, 70's American sound. The result is a pop, sparkling, 70s American sound.
