Description:
A milestone along with Beethoven's complete works. A noble masterpiece, devoid of any staleness or muddiness. Weingartner's Brahms was highly praised by the composer himself. The highest sound quality ever! From Akira A Fukushima, reproduction and reissue engineer. We are pleased to reissue Weingartner's "Brahms Complete Works", a masterpiece of Weingartner's along with Beethoven's complete works. Brahms himself went to the concert and praised Weingartner's Symphony No. 2. He was so confident in his repertoire. The CD reissue by Keith Hardwick (EMI References), which came out about 30 years ago, was so aggressive in removing hiss noise that the music lost its richness, and the sound quality was like a mere shadow of the great performance. I was not satisfied with this. The unadorned reissue by Shinseido is still considered the best, but it is now difficult to obtain. This time, I cleaned and reproduced all four symphonies by arranging American recordings, which have strong sound power. The Brahms is fast and not at all old-fashioned even after listening to it now, and it is well drained without any muddiness or stagnation. The lively and vibrant sound is also excellent. Even those who do not like the preachiness of Brahms' music should definitely listen to this performance. The conductor is an old hand at conducting, and his performance of the "Détails" is a masterpiece of Weingartner's own famous book. The liner notes are excerpts from Weingartner's own famous book "On Beethoven's Later Symphonic Works" in which he mentions Brahms, and a new translation. Muse Trade
