Knappertsbusch + Munich Philharmonic's masterpiece, Eroica from GREEN HILL is back in high quality sound. Hero" has been retrospectively reissued on UHQCD from the original master. The Hero" is one of the maestro's favorites, but this disc offers something different from the other performances in terms of its dynamic approach. The wailing of the second movement is deeply moving. The astonishing pause in the scherzo is also amazing! The reverberation is relatively richly captured, and the roar of the low strings is superb, even wind pressure can be felt. The UHQCD version adds even more brilliance. This is a gem that should be kept at your side and savored over and over again. As is well known, this performance was first released on Cetra in Italy in 1950 with the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks. The commentary of the domestic version was written by Mr. Kuniyoshi Uno, whose commentary is included in this CD. English and Japanese liner notes are included. Muse Trade
