The Bitossi Miniature Elephant Figure has a gentle, easy presence to it. Part of the Rimini Blu collection, it takes a familiar shape and gives it a softer, more sculptural feel, with that deep blue glaze doing its usual quiet work across the surface. It’s the sort of piece that doesn’t demand attention, but you notice it more and more the longer it’s around.

Each elephant is slip cast in white earthenware and then finished entirely by hand. While the clay is still fresh, artisans press and engrave stencil patterns into it, building up texture in a way that feels almost tactile rather than decorative. Once the bright crystalline glaze is applied, it settles into those marks and shifts in tone, so every piece ends up slightly different without trying to be.

It tends to sit comfortably wherever you put it. A shelf, a console, even a corner of a desk where things gather over time. Nothing about it feels overworked or precious, just quietly made and easy to live with, which is often the best kind of object.
