The MGB is probably the most ubiquitous British sports car ever made and remains one of the most popular classic cars. Built from 1962 to 1980 in Abingdon, England, the car replaced the MGA and was MG’s first foray into the now-common monocoque construction.
One of the criticisms of the B-series engined MGB was that it lacked power. The 6 cylinder MGC was not a commercial success, so in 1973, BL shoehorned a V8 engine into the MGB-GT which substantially increased the performance of the car. From the factory, the V8 engine was only available in the GT bodyshell and versions were produced with chrome and later with rubber bumpers.
This illustration shows a MGB-GT V8 with chrome bumpers and the distinctive alloy road wheels, in Black with Autumn Leaf interior trim.
An ideal gift or a treat for yourself, or any MGB enthusiast, perfect for the office, living room, den or garage!
