Description:
The Gramola label is focusing its efforts on the "Decadent Music Revival" series. The works of composers persecuted and forgotten by the Nazi regime during World War II have been increasingly performed since the end of the 20th century, but this is only a small part of the story, and there are still many buried works out there. This album features a variety of concerto works for violin and other violins, with Salzburg-based violinist Irnberger playing solo. On album 1, we hear concertos by two female composers active at the beginning of the 20th century, and on album 2, concertos by Hartmann and Martineau, four works by four different composers who were at the mercy of the times.
