Rainer Honeck, longtime concertmaster of the Vienna Philharmonic and a renowned conductor, performed these secret pieces by Mozart and Beethoven in a subscription concert with Kioi Sinfonietta Tokyo, the predecessor of the Kioi Hall Chamber Orchestra, for which he has served as principal conductor since 2017. The recording includes Mozart's two rondos, which he played as soloist, and Beethoven's String Quartet No. 14 in the string ensemble version of Horneck's original arrangement. Despite being a chamber orchestra, the rich, dense, and profound tone of this piece makes it stand out even more, and the ensemble is a superb ensemble that has been highly acclaimed since the early days of their activities.
