Recorded in 1995 by The Master Musicians of Jajouka, an all-male Sufi musical band from a village in the Rif Mountains of northern Morocco and heirs to a culture with roots in ancient Persia. Reissue with jacket changed from the original. Digipak packaging. Their trance music, passed down from generation to generation in the Attar family, is complex and melodic, but also spiritual and healing at the same time. It is played on instruments such as the lyra (flute), gaita (oboe), gimbli (bass lute), and drums played with hands or sticks, and is intensively practiced and often played all night long. The band, which recorded with The Rolling Stones and was declared "the rock and roll band of 4,000 years" by counterculture guru Timothy Leary, toured Europe for the first time in a decade, and in 1995, with Bashir Attar as leader, Real World The band appeared on the scene.
