Due to their strong association with the moon, Moonstones are said to inherit a connection to the divine feminine. They were held in high regard by the Greeks (and many other cultures), for their connection to lunar deities (i.e. the goddess Selene in Greek mythology).

Commonly, Moonstones are associated with a sense of calm, assisting the wearer to find balance and center themselves to promote inner peace. They also live up to their namesake as they are said to represent new beginnings and the cyclical ebb and flow of life through periods of transformation.

Moonstones belong to the feldspar mineral group and are primarily composed of orthoclase or albite. They are characterized by their milky-white or pale blue adularescence, an optical effect similar to the light of the moon on a clear night, hence the name “moonstone.”
