AROMATICA is a Korean clean-beauty brand with EWG Green certification across its lineup and a vegan, cruelty-free production standard. The Glow Vita Oil-in-Gel Cleanser is their vitamin C cleansing gel, designed for morning use or as a first cleanse that leaves a slight radiance-boost finish. The texture is the unusual part: it looks like gel in the bottle, transforms to an oil upon skin contact, then emulsifies to milk with water. Three phases in one cleanser.
The Orange and Neroli essential oil blend is pressed from real fruit peels, not synthetic fragrance, which is consistent with AROMATICA's aromatherapy-meets-skincare positioning. Ascorbic acid-adjacent vitamin C derivatives support surface brightening without the instability of pure vitamin C in a cleanser. At $33 for 150ml, it is mid-priced for a Korean cleansing gel.
The oil phase dissolves sunscreen, sebum, and oil-based makeup. The gel structure spreads easily without dripping. On water contact, the formula emulsifies to a light milky cleanser that rinses cleanly. The vitamin C derivatives (ascorbyl glucoside in most AROMATICA vitamin C products) leave a very mild brightening effect on skin surface, though cleanser contact time is too short for treatment-level benefit. The citrus essential oils are a pleasant morning wake-up, though not for scent-sensitive users.
Apply 2 to 3 pumps to dry skin. Massage gently for 30 to 60 seconds; the texture shifts from gel to oil as it works. Add a splash of water to emulsify into a milky cleanser, then massage another 20 to 30 seconds. Rinse thoroughly. Follow with a water-based second cleanser if you wore heavy makeup or long-wear sunscreen, or proceed to toner for a one-and-done morning cleanse.
Both, depending on your routine. For morning, it works solo. For evening after makeup and sunscreen, use it as first cleanse followed by a gentle foam or gel cleanser.
The citrus oils can sting if the cleanser contacts the eyes. Rinse carefully and avoid scrubbing around the eye area. Not recommended as an eye makeup remover.
The essential oils are the question here. Sensitive skin users tolerate citrus oils variably. Patch test on the jawline for 3 days before committing. Fragrance-free alternatives (such as AESTURA cleansers) are safer for reactive skin.
Cleanser contact time is short (60 seconds or so), so the brightening effect is very modest. For real vitamin C brightening, use a leave-on serum. This cleanser pairs well with that approach as the starter step.
Neroli and orange essential oils are generally considered safe in low concentrations, but pregnancy essential oil use is individual. Consult your OB if you are concerned.
Pair with AROMATICA Serene Body Bar for a matching aromatherapy body step.
