George Braith
Description:
In the early 1960s, rare saxophonist George Brace led three unique Blue Note sessions, but this is the last Blue Note release, recorded in 1964. While the music is based on soul jazz with Grant Green on guitar, Billy Gardner on organ, and Clarence Johnston on drums, Brace's adventurous spirit takes the music into unexpected territory with memorable original compositions such as "Nut City." The song "Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye" features Brace's signature technique of playing multiple wind instruments at the same time, and is an example of his lyrical and avant-garde style of music.
