Friedrich Gulda was not only one of the greatest master pianists of the 20th century, but also a composer who left behind "improvisational works that fuse jazz and classical music. This album contains six works. Except for "Variations on "LIGHT MY FIRE," the first piece on this album, each piece is small in scale but has its own unique character with a jazz flavor. Among them, "PLAY PIANO PLAY," written for his second wife "Yuko," is a collection of pieces with a unique flavor, employing a variety of compositional techniques while using classical techniques. The last two pieces are for his two sons. Martin David Jones, who is performing, is a pianist who, like Gurda, is active in both classical and jazz music.
