This is the second release in the "Sony Classical Masterpieces Collection 1000". This is a live recording of violinist Midori Goto's subscription performance at the New York Philharmonic led by Zubin Mehta in 1989, when she was 17 years old. The recording features a magnificent performance in front of a full house, full of spirit and full of a sense of scale, interwoven throughout the music with freshness and undulations that were described at the time as "as pure as a little bird".
