Cairo's Liberation Square is the scene where a large mass of people demonstrate, confronting the authorities: we are immersed in one of the main episodes of what is known as the Arab Spring. Four and a half centuries earlier, Muhammad ibn Abd Allah ibn Yahwar, descendant of the famous lineage of the Banu Yahwar of al-Andalus, is one of many converts who suffer the iron control and fear to which the Moors of Granada are subjected by the local authorities, headed by the Church. These are the moments prior to the outbreak of the Alpujarras Rebellion. Two seemingly parallel lives that star in the Modern History of Egypt and Spain, whose destiny is only to culminate in a climax that reveals the true protagonist of this gripping and absorbing novel: the historical uprooting of the most disadvantaged.
