This one-of-a-kind necklace features a striking pairing of Petoskey stone and Leland Blue, two iconic Michigan stones brought together in a handcrafted copper setting.
The upper stone is Petoskey stone, a fossilized coral formed over 350 million years ago, known for its soft gray tones and distinctive hexagonal pattern. Below it hangs a vibrant shard of Leland Blue, a rare, slag-derived stone found along the shores of Lake Michigan, prized for its rich turquoise color and natural speckling.
Both stones are individually set using electroforming, a slow, alchemical process where pure copper is grown molecule by molecule around the stones. This technique creates an organic, textured copper bezel that securely holds each stone while celebrating their natural shapes. The warm copper patina adds depth and contrast, enhancing the stones’ unique character.
Suspended from a coordinating chain, this necklace is entirely handmade and truly one of a kind—no two pieces can ever be replicated.
