The 8th Sendai International Music Competition was held in May and June 2022, and Rina Nakano (Japan) won the 8th Sendai International Music Competition in the Violin Section. Rina Nakano (Japan) won the first prize in the Violin Section of the 8th Sendai International Music Competition held in May-June 2022. We are proud to announce the arrival of a young talent from Japan who will be showcased to the world. Lina Nakano was born in Tokyo in 2004. She won the first prize at the 8th Sendai International Music Competition at the age of 17, the youngest ever winner. The previous year, she also won the first prize at the 90th Japan Music Competition, as well as the Iwatani Prize, Masuzawa Prize, LeCaudia Prize, Sumi Prize, and Kuroyanagi Prize, and was given a 1716 Antonio Stradivarius by the ITOH Foundation. He also won the first prize at the 72nd All Japan Student Music Competition, the first prize at the 3rd Mozart Competition for Young Musicians (Zhuhai, China), and many other competitions in Japan and abroad. He also won the 7th Arion Toho Music Award. He has performed with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, the Central Aichi Symphony Orchestra, the Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Salzburg Chamber Soloists. She studied with Chihiro Morikawa at the Music School for Children attached to the Toho Gakuen School of Music and with Paul Rocheck at the Summer International Music Academy of the Mozarteum School of Music.She is currently a third-year music student at Toho Girls' High School (coeducational) as a special student, studying under Akiko Tatsumi.
