Description:
The Associates, a pop duo formed in Dundee, Scotland, in 1979, are now celebrating the 40th anniversary of their 1982 breakthrough album, "SULK," with the latest remastered blue vinyl analog release! Formed in Dundee, Scotland in 1979, the duo of Billy Mackenzie and Alan Rankin developed their own unique pop style, drawing influences from a diverse range of music and styles, from art rock, disco, and glam rock to minimalism and cabaret music. Their music was post-punk, new wave, and synth-pop in style, and attracted many music fans in the 1980s. Their second studio album, "SULK," was released in 1982.This album, which could be called the culmination of their sound, combining the new romantic synth-pop sound with dark and surreal cabaret elements, reached the top 10 of the UK album charts and was named "Album of the Year" by Melody Maker magazine. In fact, Billy McKenzie, vocalist of THE ASSOCIATES, who chose to leave this world in 1997, said of the album before his death: "'SULK' is a true liberation. SULK" was a true liberation. It reflects the essence of who I am as I am. To commemorate the 40th anniversary of the release of "SULK," the album will be reissued on blue vinyl analog LP featuring the latest remastered versions of the original album.
