Description:
In a corner of the old city we speak Believe me, the broken past is beautiful too. What does the past mean to people? A story of reconciliation with the past, drawn with the history of our country Legendary female director Lana Gogoberidze's new film after 27 years at the age of 91 A new film by Lana Gogoberidze, a leading female director of postwar Georgian cinema, after 27 years and at the age of 91. The director herself is reflected in the main character Elene, whose mother was sent to a prison camp during the Stalin era and whose own activities as a writer were also suppressed by the authorities. The director's mother, Nutsa, the first female director in Georgia, was exiled to a concentration camp in a bitterly cold region for 10 years. The director herself fought against censorship under the Soviet Union and lived through the turbulent days of Georgia's path to independence after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991. Inspired by Japanese "Kintsugi After learning about the traditional Japanese kintsugi technique, director Gogoberidze decided on the title of his film, "Golden Threads. The director says, "If the past is joined with a golden thread, as the Japanese join broken vessels of centuries past with gold, the past, even at its most painful, will become not only a burden, but also an asset. ★Music by world-renowned composer Giya Kancheli The music for this film was composed by Giya Kancheli, a world-renowned composer born in Tbilisi who passed away from heart disease in 2019. During his life, he composed seven symphonies as well as numerous orchestral and vocal works. He also composed music for more than 40 films, including the cult science fiction film "Kin the Wonder Planet" (1986). A Love Letter to the Ancient City of Tbilisi The film is set in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, formerly known as Georgia. Stepping inside the old cobblestone streets of the old city, one finds an old wooden housing complex that surrounds a courtyard. The residents still socialize around the courtyard with a sense of humanity. This is where the main character, Elene, lives. One of the major attractions of this film is the excellent use of this courtyard in the filming and cinematography.
